Phase 1 of the replanting sequence: the property edge goes native first — windbreak, filter band and river shade — while the interior stays in Tifton 85 forage. Later phases work inward.

What the ground is made of — five NRCS soil units drawn over the tract from the SSURGO survey. Sunev loam carries the working center, the Seawillow slopes and the Oakalla drainage thread through it, Rumley holds the southern strip and Boerne the river edge.

Riparian Map
The water’s domain — 2,810 ft of Lampasas River frontage, the seasonal feeder that crosses parcel 11122, and the indicative riparian corridor between them. Corridor shading is drawn at one hundred feet — not a delineation.

Restoration Sections

01 · River Conservation Strip · 8.13 ac

Lampasas River frontage held out of production; bank stabilization and native cane.

02 · Eastern Shelterbelt

High ground along the highway; multi-row windbreak of cedar elm and live oak.

03 · Drainage Savanna Corridor

Seasonal drainage kept as open savanna to slow and spread runoff.

04 · Western Headwaters Savanna

The spring source wedge; light woody cover over restored short grasses.

05 · North Inflow Filter Band

Vegetated filter strip catching sheet flow before the river.

06 · Floodplain Agricultural Basin

Bottomland transitioning from Tifton 85 hay to native prairie under PUB.

07 · Western Agricultural Uplands

Upland fields being converted to native forage and pollinator margins.
